Someone e-mailed me a youtube link of Jack Van Impe concocting a prophesy that perhaps since the world's most reliable calendar, the Inca Calendar, only goes to the year 2012, that this may indicate the next coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Monday Madness: Waxing and Waning Edible Moon Phases

My church Homeschool group studies semester themes. This past semesters theme was Space and Flight Exploration. Every field trip and class, whether it be history, art, science and even P.E., was centered around that theme. For example, our P.E. class was "Flight Training." They did obstacle courses, they were timed while having to put flashlights together and use tongs to move "moon rocks" from one bucket to another while wearing oversized gloves and a helmet with a face mask. On one of the science days, we studied moon phases. Below is a pic of an edible one I had my class make. It was quite fun... a little messy.... but worth it. The blue cupcake is "Earth" and the "moons" are oreo cookies that have the icing scraped off with a jar lid to show what the moon looks like in certain phases. Everything was "glued" down to the paper plate with icing. (next semesters theme is the "Civil War" and you can see our event schedule HERE)

Monday Madness: Deliberate and Devout

Awhile back, my pastor made a blog post called Pray for Your Pastor. In light of what has happened recently with Ted Haggard, I felt it would be best to encourage you all to remember to diligently pray for your pastor and his family.

Such is the importance of the Christian ministry, that we are constrained to entreat for it one particular favor. It is a request in which we feel a very deep personal concern, Pray for us! "Pray for us", pleads the Apostle in I Thessalonians 5:25; pray for us is the hearty response from every Christian pulpit in the land, and in the wide world. If the prayers of good men were entreated by such a man as Paul; and if, with his giant intellect, his eminent spirituality, and his intimate communion with God and things unseen, this holy man needed this encouragement and impulse in his work, who will not say "Brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified!" (II Thessalonians 3:1)....

Monday Madness: The Forgotten Doctrine

How many doctrinally sound hymns or spiritual songs are about repentance? or actually mention the need to repent? or the word repent?

Our generation teaches false assurance in a fluff gospel at the expense of proclaiming necessary repentance. In fact, there is probably no doctrine that needs to be clearly communicated to our generation more than the doctrine of repentance... especially since faith and repentance are truly inseperable.

Monday Madness: Without the Bible

Without the Bible I could not see “the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” Without the Bible I could not know “the unsearchable riches of Christ.” Without the Bible I would not know that I am a great sinner and that Christ is a great Savior. Monday Madness: Just Reminiscing

I grew up watching alot of TV. My dad was committed to raising 3 children on his own from the time I was 6 to the age of 13. I was the youngest of the 3. But he had to work and he did the best he knew how. I can't say that it was easy, but I do have alot of respect for my dad for not giving up. It was especially unheard of back then for a man to take on raising children without a wife. But like I said... he didn't give up.
One of my favorite shows to watch was Schoolhouse Rock. I liked their catchy toons and alot of them have stayed with me even though I am almost 40. It is how I learned about the constitution and memorized the preamble way before it was taught in school.

Monday Madness: Depue no

My boys and I decopauged and antiqued a world map onto one of our dining tables awhile back. It was quite fun and turned out to be very functional and beautiful. We would sit down to eat and play "I Spy." We learned about islands and locations we had never heard of before. Like Christmas Isand and Easter Island. "Depue no" is how they say "see you later" on Easter Island. I will not be blogging this week... so "Depue no" until next week. May the Lord abundantly bless you all.

Monday Madness: To Laugh or Not to Laugh
