This is Embarrassing

Here is a video to promote the Rick Warren Purpose Driven Life 2006 conference that made me think "they just don't get it." Especially when they promote "Honda". He also says if anyone has a problem with what he says, take it up with his boss, "Rick Warren" (is this the R.I.C.K. Warren humility plan in action?). He also taunts satan as he says, "Satan try to stop me, you gotta be kiddin' me." Then he says "Make the booty drop like the walls of Jericho" as he turns around and shakes his in front of the camera.
WHY?????
This both breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomache.
What is the purpose?
Who is getting the glory in this?

Someone please tell me this is a hoax!

Breathe for HIM

I seriously still have alot on my plate; so as you can see, it really is hit or miss with my posting schedule. With the construction going on in our home, there are other people constantly going through our home as I try to homeschool and move things out of the way, etc. This construction stuff could go on for the next year as we finish out unfinished areas, build a new retaining wall in the back, and much more.

I pray that all those who come through our home will see Christ in us.

May you all walk in the light as He Himself is in the light. (I John 1:7) And remember that even every breath we take is to be for the glory of our Lord.

Weekend Whatever: My Life Flashed Before My Eyes

I was riding a friends horse one day. Not one of those short or mid-size horses. But a very tall horse with a slight schizo-panic-freak-out disorder. So when a great dane came running towards this horse I was on, my life flashed before my eyes. The horse started racing towards a low tree branch and I also pictured my head being chopped off, so I ducked low and hugged the horse. I kept hugging him as I pulled hard on the reigns lest I fly off and break something, like my neck... and then I started to pray to the Lord and then sing to the horse. "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice..." My singing was a tad jumpy, but hey, I was multi-tasking like I had never done before and the singing was more for my sanity than for the horse. I have no idea why that song popped into my head, but in retrospect it seemed appropriate.
This was on my in-laws property and my kids were outside watching me, their mother, possibly die. Apparently someone was able to contain the great dane... which to me is more like a mini-horse version of a dog; and I was able to get the horse calmed down and back into the horse barn without any damage to him or my body.

Hilarious Indeed

I was going to wait and make this a weekend whatever post, but I just cannot help myself. In light of Challies latest distractions from writing his book on discernment... of which he asked for prayer regarding this adventure... I have found a cartoon that reminded me of Challies that I found here.
Here is Challies 2nd distraction posted today... and now here is the1st one posted yesterday. Apparently, he is on a roll.
Yes... both HILARIOUS indeed. But like I said in the comments on his first distraction, "Ummmm.... praying for you and your dear wife. This was certainly HILARIOUS and VERY ENTERTAINING!!!! But you remind me of my husband the week before he was supposed to be downstairs studying for boards... when low and behold I find him leaving comments on Challies blog. Remember that? Aren't you supposed to be writing a book or something? And I can only imagine how many books you have stacked up in your library that you are supposed to be reviewing... or have you resorted to reading Far Side cartoons again?"
Of which Challies replied, "How do you know I haven't excerpted this from the forthcoming book...mom..."
Now, I am sure you guessed that there is no possible way that I could actually be his mother. I do, however, imagine that his mother is quite incredible. But I have to add... when someone asks for prayer, I take it seriously. And he obviously needs it more fervently than I imagined. ha. :-)

Now, I know he isn't writing about procrastination. But I have witnessed ever since he made this announcement, his troll commenters giving him a hard time about writing such a book. All this to say Challies and Mrs. Challies... prayer, as you know, does make a difference. And the Lord has laid you both on my heart daily... obviously there is a reason as evidenced by your hilarious posts! HILARIOUS!!!! Indeed. But get to work... :-)

Preoccupied

Okay... so I am behind on my Philippians and Biblical Womanhood postings. Yep. Thank you for the e-mails to remind me. I have been too preoccupied with the Doctrine of Regeneration. Sincere apologies. I will be out for the day with my husband and children. He's off. And I will spend my day in the world-o-sphere where I will have to talk to people instead of type into a screen. Pray for me.

And I hope you know I am joking... so no e-mails of concern that I spend too much time in the blogosphere... 'kay. Or accusations that I spend way too much time with my children... oh... well that IS something I do alot now isn't it. I have been "accused" of that in a negative sense. I had a friend that, even though she was a stay-at-home mother, would drop her kids off at the daycare so they could get "social skills"... YIKES.
