My Husband, My brother in Christ
Why I Blog
I especially enjoy writing about Biblical Womanhood as well as the application of Biblical theology from the perspective of a woman longing to communicate my love for who God is as revealed in His Word of knowable and applicable truth and NOT who I imagine He is from some sentimental, me-centered perspective that is based on relative, roller-coaster ride of self-sustained religion 'truth'. In other words, I like to encourage others to press on in His truth and His love for His glory.
But then, everything I have written has likely been said a whole lot better by someone else. I definitely have no insight that is deeper than what God has already revealed. Therefore, if you find anything of value here than give God the glory!
"Lisa at Deo Volente is another blogger that I'd love to meet with and share some coffee. She's been through some rough circumstances in her life, and she's come through them clearly showing the grace of God, and honouring Him through those circumstances. Her various posts are sometimes funny, often really make you think, and always theologically sound."-Jen at JoythruChrist
Lisa is passionate about her reformed faith and her posts reflect how her faith is practically applied to situations in her life. Very difficult ones, from time to time...Ukrainiac
"Lisa's site has become one of my new favorites to read and to participate. I think she brings a nice touch to the application of theology to everday life as a woman and as a mother. It's sort of like Secret— strong enough for a man, but made for a woman." -Young Wilderness Voice
"Praise the Lord! I have finally found the sold-out, brainy Christian women bloggers, and from what I can tell so far, most of them are Reformed to boot! I knew they had to be out there somewhere. It was just a matter of time. I was directed to Lisa’s blog this morning ...which led to Carla’s blog ... and these are leading me to many others." -Katy at Logoscentric
"4Given's blog. The reformed mother of 6. She rips." by The Armchair Theologian
"I find your blog very encouraging, and uplifting. You are an inspiration to me, and the Lord is using you to encourage me." by Lynn

How divinely fair all things become when in the glory of His presence.
"A reed, helpless, insignificant and weak. A bruised reed out of whch no music can come; weaker than weakness tself, a reed, and yet that reed bruised, yet He will not break thee; but on the contrary restore and strengthen thee."
.
Why trials:
-THere are graces to which I have not yet attained-places of fellowship nearer to Christ which I have not yet reached-heights of communion of which my feet have not climbed
(Spurgeon again)
"It is one thing to love Him when all is fair, and quite another to cleave to Him when under all discouragements and difficulties."--Spurgeon

Lisa-
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all-how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sakes we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:31-37
Every day we are provided with constant reminders of our sins, weaknesses, inconsistencies and fickleness...no doubt we are not worthy of His love. And yet, it always amazes me no matter how I fail Him, He has already determined the victory. Standing with you dear sister in prayer and in victory.
Terri
I remember listening to Spurgeons sermon at mountzion.org on the reed.

If God is for us then who can be against us.
Thank you, Terri. It amazes me, though it has been 4 or 5 years since you and I fellowshipped together in that wonderful church you are in that I had to move away from... boohoo... and how much I continue to long to see you people, love you all and enjoy hearing the goings on out there. I know the Lord has my family where he wants us, and we are so immensely blessed to be in the church we are in out here. So thank you Terri, for keeping in touch. It is like water to a thirsty soul to hear from and be encouraged by a dear sister in Christ.
Yes, I love Spurgeon... especially when in a trial, I enjoy reading his works.
You have an impressive site, Puritan Belief. I love all your links to such great puritan works!!!
"I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest," declares the Lord GOD. "I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick..."
Ezekiel 34:15-16
"I will lift mine eyes unto the hills; from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth..." Psalm 121
Below is a video testimony about how God saved our marriage after an 18 month separation, 5 years into our marriage. We had 2 children when we separated. We now have 6 children and have been married for... well, OH so much longer!!!... by the grace of our faithful Heavenly Father.
