Out of Character for me...
Those that know me, understand why I would title this as such when posting a recipe.
But when I started this website, I put in a recipe category thinking I would occassionally get out of my comfort zone and post a recipe... apparently my comfort zone is posting controversial issues. hmmm. This may be the only recipe post that goes in my recipe category, but hey, I did it.
I have a dear friend that remembers the day I cried out, literally crying, that the good Lord would give me a heart to cook for my family... and then send people my way to show me how. The evidence is clear that the Lord answered this prayer in abundance. For now I really do love to cook and my family ACTUALLY enjoys eating it.
With 5 males in the family that love to eat, this really is something I needed to grasp... and LOVE IT. For I have to do it alot (along with dishes, laundry, etc.)
I actually have a system that works when doing laundry for and with so many people. I, however, still struggle with scrubbing pots and the crud on them for the glory of God.
So here goes...
Stuffed Burgers
(it is fun to stuff burgers with various things... slices of cheese, bacon, etc. But this seems to be the prevailing favorite)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pound Ground Beef
1/4 cup Onion -- finely chopped
1 teaspoon Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Sauce
1 dash Cayenne
6 slices Cheddar Cheese
2 tablespoons Green Chiles -- chopped
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together except the cheese slices and ground beef. Shape the beef into 12 patties. Place 1 cheese slice and 1 to 2 TBS. mixture on each of 6 patties. Top with the remaining 6 patties sealing the edges firmly.
Sprinkle one side of the burger with salt and pepper. Broil or grill the patties 4-inches from the heat, turning once, until the desired doneness is reached, about 10 to 15 minutes.
This recipe for Chile Stuffed Burgers serves/makes 6... so i typically have to double it.
