My 91 FM Radio Testimony
On the left sidebar you will notice an audio button (that you have to click twice). I will post this radio testimony in 5 sections. This one is the first and it is only a couple of minutes long... The entire testimony is 35 minutes. That is why I thought it best to post in sections. Now I am going to make excuses and apologies for my southern twang, stutters, and getting ahead of myself as I give the hardest testimony I have ever given.
I had given a similar testimony at a Care-Net fund-raising banquet the week before I did the radio testimony. The banquet was the first time I had spoken specifically on abortion. It was tough. I had, up until that time, been speaking for Stonecroft Ministries and on the radio giving a marriage testimony. It seemed like I had given that one over a hundred times. This one I have presented only twice. Why? It was no longer my season to speak because we had just adopted the twins (which made 6 children) and they needed me way more than anyone. They had been abused and neglected, coming into our home at 2 years old... having experienced more horrors than I would ever want to tell you.

Sounds like it will be extremely powerful. I can't wait to hear the rest.

I did this testimony the year Bush was re-elected. I listen to it and hear all the mistakes, the stutters, the phrases that I would word differenly or use differently. Like the fact that I use the word "amazing"... which is now a word we have tried to instill in our children as one reserved to describe God. Wow... the world has really messed up that word "amazing" and the word "awesome" (among others)....
For example, "Mmmmm... this fried chicken is AWESOME" or "That dress you're wearing is AMAZING."
Now to describe God, you cannot really use just one word. You have to use a whole string of words because describing God with a word used to describe fried chicken and a dress just doesn't cut it.
I think of some of the great expositors and theologians out there and wonder if say, John MacArthur ever looks back and thinks, "Man I wish I would have worded that differently" or Sproul saying "I should have described it like this... or used this illustration."
In light of that, I think of the men who were divinely inspired to write the Word of God. They didn't struggle to find the right words... God gave them the words.
I struggle with what to say, write, and retrospectively at times think of how it could have been communicated much better had I known "this or that" at that time. My words are far from inerrant, but then God uses them at times... WHICH TOTALLY BLOWS MY MIND!!!

This made me think of James 3:4-10:
Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing.
God-willing, what proceeds from my mouth will be that which brings glory to God... it pains me to know that at times I will fail at this, but i am thankful that I have a High Priest interceding on my behalf... now THAT is AMAZING!!!

Yeah. Put on more audio clips, but put up the whole 35 minute version too when you're done. I wouldn't mind sitting down and listening to it all in one fell swoop. Seeing that I've kinda been in this blog ring for, oh, around 3 days (HA! Has the internet changed how people communicate or WHAT?!), I don't know you from an oak tree...but I'd like to hear the rest. I like hearing about what Jesus has done in other people's lives. Jesus likes hearing about it too, and he lives in my heart so it's two against...uh, oh...two against two I guess?!

I love how communication has changed... for the most part. It has made the world smaller to me. I cannot comprehend why people actually read my blog... from especially places like Russia, Italy, Korea and Amman, Jordan... (and even Finland).
I have "met" people I would have never had the opportunity to "converse" with...
