Restored joy
Not because my body is working like it use to.
Not because things are going the way I think they should.
But because my God is faithful in spite of my unfaithfulness.
When you cannot see your way, be satisfied that He is your leader. When your spirit is overwhelmed within you, He knows your path; He will not leave you to sink. He has appointed seasons of refreshment, and you shall find He does not forget you. -John Newton
I did not know if it were wise to allow you all to see me so broken and disheartened. But I thank you. Thank you for your outpouring of prayers, your e-mails, your concern. Along with my family, my church family, my blogosphere family, you have all ministered to me in this time.
Psalm 34:17-19: "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all."

I am bringing your burden, daily, before the throne of grace, Lisa. What you give me in return is very valuable....a conviction to trust in the sovereign hand of God who is our strong tower. His love is higher than the mountains.
Christ in You, can persevere!
I posted something for you on sistergotslapped. thanks,

Here's something for you. It's a quote from a woman who 'got it' as almost none do. Jonathan Edwards' wife, Sarah, wrote this to her daughter when she learned of the death of her husband:
"O my very Dear Child, What shall I say. A holy and good God has covered us with a dark cloud. O that we may all kiss the rod and lay our hands on our mouths. The Lord has done it. He has made me adore his goodness that we had him so long. But my God lives and he has my heart. O what a legacy my husband and your father has left us. We are all given to God and there I am and love to be." (In Burr, Journal, 301. as quoted by Moore in Good Christians, Good Husbands?, p.126)
That statement, "O that we may all kiss the rod and lay our hands on our mouths" just floors me over and over. How totally and absolutely regenerated was her view of life and the Lord? It's embarassing for me to really think about it...I have a long way to go before I instinctively say "O that we may all kiss the rod...".
May we all one day be at that place.
