Doctrinally unsound but funny joke
The following joke came from my husband. He takes his boards tomorrow. It is a one time 8 or 9 hour exam. He is a great test taker (unlike me) but I would love it if you would consider praying for him. He did pre-med, 4 years of med school graduating as an M.D., one year of internal medicine internship, and simultaneously worked as an ER doc as he did 3 years of an anesthesia residency (and before he was done, he had 6 children).
Now he is taking the exam to get officially board certified in anesthesiology. (And we are praying about possibly adopting more.)
*shew* ... and definitely to God be ALL the glory!!!
Okay, here's the very doctrinally unsound but funny joke:
A middle aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience, in which she saw God and asked "Is my time up?"
God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live.
Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face lift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.
After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was hit and killed by an ambulance. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years to live? Why didn't you pull me out of the path of that ambulance?"
God replied: "I didn't recognize you."

Yes... terrible! and terribly funny to the point of feeling a bit guilty for thinking it as so funny. But it does sadly illustrate what the world would think is a way to redeem the time... in the most shallow sense.
Thank you for your prayers.

It is ALL your fault, Mike Y.
Carla posted something today on how much she hates rap music. So I... couldn't help myself.

:) I'm the devil that made you do it?
My work here is done. I'm the leaven. First I corrupted Chelle, her sister, and her friend to wear pants. And now this.
I wonder what else I can do? The Scottish in me has really wanted to see a return to kilts here. Hmm.

Oh yeah. That may not be masculine.

If you want to wear a kilt, please do it in the privacy of your own home... and please do not post it as a pic or you may cause a weaker brother to stumble.
I have had way too much fun today.

Ha, ha, ooh, ouch, what a joke! Thanks for making me laugh. I will pray for Jon. By the way thanks for the chit chat last night. Being outside helps me to hear and understand what people are saying. I love you guys! :0 )

Hey Julie... so glad to hear that your hearing loss is at a stand still right now. Regarding going outside... My home is kind of hard to hear in with the high ceilings which is great for when we sing, but when alot of people are talking at once after the study is finished, it is even hard for me to hear.
Thanks for praying for Jon, my friend. We greatly appreciate it.

How soon will he have the results of the exam?
Posted by: sheshe | July 8, 2006 10:48 AM
I have No clue. Typically stuff like this takes several months to get the final results. When he was an accountant and took the 3 day CPA exam, it took a couple of months to find out he passed. I am imagine this will be similar.
