Dry and Doctrinally Sound T-Shirt Contest
For the first person to find me the lyrics to an old hymn called "If Men go to Hell, Who Cares?" ...I'll put $15 towards the purchase of a t-shirt from Reflections.
UPDATE: I knew this would be a quick contest. I'm going to have to do this again and make it more challenging. Except this was genuinely about finding lyrics to a hymn that I couldn't track down.
:-)
Already have a winner. Thank you, Evers Ding. Just contact Carla and let her know I sent you.
Here are the lyrics:
"While the world rushes on in its folly and sin, And millions go down in despair,
To reign where demons are shrieking within,
IF MEN GO TO HELL, WHO CARES?
While the people of earth are forgetting the Lord,
And church pews are empty and bare;
There comes to my heart these pitiful words,
IF MEN GO TO HELL, WHO CARES?
Yes, the Father who sent His dear Son to this Earth,
All our sins and burdens to bear;
The One who has suffered for all who are lost,
IF MEN GO TO HELL, WHO CARES?Who Cares? Who Cares? O Lord WHO CARES?
While the world rushes on in sin and despair;
IF MEN GO TO HELL......WHO CARES?"
I am sure the psalmist had some of the above thoughts in mind when he stated in Psalm 142:4: "No man cared for my soul." Years ago in my last Pastorate (The Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, Florida), I kept this TRUE STATEMENT before my dear people: "EVERY SAVED PERSON THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN, OUGHT TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT EVERY LOST PERSON THIS SIDE OF HELL." ( Found HERE. )
Here's a question for you?
Did Jesus suffer "for all who are lost" ???

My Husband, My brother in Christ

Don't know if this is the entirety of the song, but I found apparent lyrics for the hymn at http://www.truthonfire.com/BCEA/Proclaimer/2004/proclaim_Jul2004.asp

Well, if someone finds out this is not the song in its entirety, than perhaps I can give them a coupon also.

You can here part of the song, sung by the Dunham Jazz and Jubilee Singers here:
http://www.buy.com/prod/vol-1-1927-31/q/loc/109/60040036.html
And it looks like it is available in the hymnal "Favorite Songs and Hymns - Hymnal" - Hardbound Blue
from Brentwood-Benson Music .
But I don't know the lyrics.

Hi Tulip Girl,
I knew about the Jubilee singers, but I couldn't hardly understand what they were saying... except when they sang "If men go to hell, who cares?"
I had no idea about the hymnal book. I appreciate your help.
There's a $5 gift certificate waiting for you over at Carla's "Reflections"... I think she is also having some other discounts over there. I just got some of her coffee mugs and they have already proven to be conversation starters about Christ. Not that I have to rely on a coffee mug or a t-shirt, but they have proven themselves to be unexpected conversation starters about the deeper things of Christ with both my neighbors that come over or see me drinking coffee in one of those mugs as I am out watering my garden, etc. Whether it be a like-minded Christian that sees my solas t-shirt and gets all excited cause I'm a Doctrines of Grace gal and they want to know where to get one or someone that asks what it means.
Blessings to you.
This contest is closed, but look forward to more.
