Hallelujah! He Has Found Me!
Go read my pastor's post called "Jesus Really Satisfies."
For a drink from some cool spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.
Feeding on the filth around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.
Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.
Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.
Hallelujah! He has found me
The One my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies all my long - ings
Through His blood I now am saved.
The words to this hymn were originally "I have found Him" which is now sung as "He has found me." It isn't that He did not know where I was. It is that He has drawn me in His time, though He chose me before time, to come to a point of repentance through the redemptive work of His Son... for I, apart from Him drawing me to Himself, am completely incapable of finding Him. "Husks" was changed to "filth" which certainly fits doesn't it!!! However, what does it mean by "the One my soul so long has craved"? An unsaved sinner is unable to crave God, but would by far, choose to satisfy his or her cravings with anything other than God. So this must mean, from a Doctrines of Grace standpoint, that the soul craves something to satisfy itself. An unregenerate soul will never be satisfied and will continually be longing for satisfaction in what is temporal or fleeting... and in so doing, will not find its satisfaction. But when the Lord gets hold of that person, renews their hearts, transforms their minds, their craving of which longed to be satisfied will be thus transformed also and will find eternal satsifaction in Christ, through Christ.
"Therefore behold, I will this once cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is the Lord." (Jer. 16:21)

We sang this hymn yesterday during our service. It was the closing song after I preached from Luke 4.31-44, gathered around the Lord's Table and worshiped Him throughout the morning. What a glorious truth: He has found me and through His blood I now am saved.

I love this song but I can't find it on a mp3 anywhere. Can you tell me who sings this? Thanks so much!
God Bless
