Wednesday Womanhood: What's the big deal?
Wednesday is when I attract the most blogging trolls because I write about Biblical Womanhood. Why am I on the chopping block for Biblical Womanhood? Because I love the Lord and His Word of Truth... and I am thankful to be a part of a church that does, too. I don't look forward to the trolls, but I do love to write about Biblical womanhood... and I love being a woman.
As CJ Mahaney's wife, Carolyn, wrote in regards to recommending Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, "This book isn’t just for pastors or theologians. It’s vital that each of us ordinary women thoroughly understand and hold fast to a biblical view of womanhood in the face of the relentless egalitarian pressure of our culture."
That quote from Carolyn Mahaney made me think of this verse: "...be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." -Ephesians 5:15-17
(Go buy that book if you don't have it. It's a great book!!!)
I'd love to meet that woman. I might embarrass myself and cry on her shoulder... because I am way too familiar with that "relentless egalitarian pressure..."
I didn't have a clue how hateful people can be about this topic until I started blogging. But as I said to Vicki, "I fear offending God more than man, and way more than egalitarian "hate mail fans."
Now consider reading this prayer from my pastor.
And remember, do All things for God's glory... especially when sharing the Gospel. If you don't share the Gospel for His glory, than you are going to end up either being too ashamed to share it or you are going to share a man-centered, tickle-their-ears, sorta-not-really gospel. (To man be all the glory for that... ****shudder****)
And HERE is some help for Bible students... of which we all should be.

I can think of a whole host of women who wouldn't like this post. And why you do this to yourself is beyond me. I thought I was a glutton for punishment ;)
You said: "I didn't have a clue how hateful people can be about this topic until I started blogging." Tell me about it. Get on the bad end of the mommy boards and you'll look forward to having your teeth removed with a spoon and with no novacaine.

My husband has a copy of that book in his study, I must make a point of reading it. I recently purchased Ligon Duncan and Susan Hun't book about women's ministry in the church, I haven't read it yet either.
Well done for highlighting these issues.

I have this book, and have picked away at it. It's a big book, and you can't read it all in one sitting.
I'm going to be speaking about biblical womanhood at a ladies event in January, and I plan on trying to finish most of it by then.

Hey Mike Y.,
It is not like I am going to other peoples blogs who are egalitarians and looking for trouble. I am merely writing it on my own blog and I am not tying them up and gagging them... torturing them to read what I write. Though I am fully aware that in light of God's sufficient Word of Truth, my words are often inadequate.
Nonetheless, every Wednesday on this blog I will continue to write about Biblical womanhood. It is on the schedule, and I am not changing it lest I be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Press on my friend.
Sheena,
You are SO going to love that book by Duncan and Hunt!!! And yes, make a point of reading the one I mentioned in this post. It is well worth your time.
Kim,
I wish I could hear you speak. I'll be praying for you girl!!!
