"Lisa at Deo Volente is another blogger that I'd love to meet with and share some coffee. She's been through some rough circumstances in her life, and she's come through them clearly showing the grace of God, and honouring Him through those circumstances. Her various posts are sometimes funny, often really make you think, and always theologically sound."-Jen at JoythruChrist
Lisa is passionate about her reformed faith and her posts reflect how her faith is practically applied to situations in her life. Very difficult ones, from time to time...Ukrainiac
"Lisa's site has become one of my new favorites to read and to participate. I think she brings a nice touch to the application of theology to everday life as a woman and as a mother. It's sort of like Secret— strong enough for a man, but made for a woman." -Young Wilderness Voice
"Praise the Lord! I have finally found the sold-out, brainy Christian women bloggers, and from what I can tell so far, most of them are Reformed to boot! I knew they had to be out there somewhere. It was just a matter of time. I was directed to Lisa’s blog this morning ...which led to Carla’s blog ... and these are leading me to many others." -Katy at Logoscentric
"4Given's blog. The reformed mother of 6. She rips." by The Armchair Theologian
"This girl got it!" by no fluff required
"I find your blog very encouraging, and uplifting. You are an inspiration to me, and the Lord is using you to encourage me." by Lynn

Not sure if they are the "latest," and I don't know about Italy . . .
But a few years ago, I saw on the news here in Asia that several Japanese women had died due to accidents wearing shoes like this.
The report was talking about not only the foot and leg problems resulting from shoes like these, but from trips and falls on stairs and into traffic. Several of the Japanese women suffered concussions and even death for their fashion decisions.

Oh dear, Amanda. I had no idea.
It makes me think of all the ridiculous things we women might do to either be fashionable or "stay young."
I appreciate you sharing this, Amanda. I use to live in Japan when I was a child around my daughters ages. I remember the shoes the traditional-minded Japanese women wore. How they would shuffle when they walked. It makes me think of how even I, as a teen, would wear shoes that were too small and the consequences that I deal with in having done that.
Aaahhh, consequences. We forget about those consequences sometimes because they don't often affect us right away.
Boils down to pride... of which God hates.

Those are just abusive to the poor little feet.

If this is fashion, then I'm so glad I'm out of the loop. I mean, I'm already about 5'9". Why would I wanna be over 7' tall?
A few of those might be able to be worn by ballerinas or something, but my toes need some room, ya know?
My son says these look like something out of a sci-fi movie, and my husband says he wouldn't want to make any of these women mad! LOL
Seriously, it is quite abominable the lengths the fashion designers want us women to go to, and the lengths some women are willing to go to!

Uh, that's the LATEST fashion? I SWEAR I saw Gene Simmons wear at least 3 pair of those boots during a KISS tour in the late 70's. Hmmm...something is strange here!

Maybe... nothing really is new under the sun.

I'm surprised that you're NOT wondering what an infant would have been doing at a KISS show in the first place! LOL!
