Bum Leg
Okay... so I am losing the ability to use my left leg. It's the MS. Typically when I go through an illness like we went through this past week or if I am under tremendous amounts of stress there tends to be physical consequences. The last time I got this physically ill with a virus, it was so hard on my body that the MS exacerbated and I ended up having to use a walker (watch out Stan... we might have a race to "run").
I am, however, encouraged. Why? Because the exacerbation usually hits harder sooner. But then I'm a wee bit bummed because I just bought these gorgeous high heel knee-high chocolate brown calf skin leather boots.
Yes, I know. shallow.
So, I called my pastor's wife and told her I was bummed about this and she suggested that I rent a wheelchair so that I can still wear my boots without falling over. She said she'll focus on admiring the boots while everyone else will be worried about why I am in a wheelchair.
'kay. That made me laugh and laughter is good medicine.
Now go read this sort-of poem I wrote the last time I had an exacerbation.

My Husband, My brother in Christ

I read this in bloglines when you posted it and I've been meaning to get over here to tell you I'm praying for you; but you know how busy things are at this time of year. So finally I'm here, but I have been praying the whole time. It seems like things really hit hard around the holidays. Must be stress.
The boots sound fabulous! And it's not really shallow. I think it's just a woman thing --shoes! yeah, shoes!
I admire your courage in the face of the trials coming your way. I couldn't think of you as shallow; just human.
I hope that this will pass soon...

Thank you for your prayers JoythruChrist. That means a lot to me. You are a continual source of encouragement.
Welcome to the blogosphere Mr. Shank. I have been blessed by the people that the Lord has put in my path thru blogging. I am also a busy mom, but have found that this blogging, of which I initially began as a personal journal, has become an unexpected ministry that my husband is supportive of... I am thankful for his accountability as well as the accountability and encouragement from my pastor and church family. This blogging has been a process of learning. Consider going to my right sidebar if you are interested in learning from my mistakes in the section called "Advice on how to blog"
Ex Animo,
Lisa
