Transition
We are in that process of construction on our home in which we had to take down my computer and the network to move it. I am actually typing this entry on my blackberry... Which if you have ever experienced typing on one, you would know it is, by now, causing my thumbs to cramp. Though it is quite odd to me that technology has advanced so much that this is even possible. The downside to this is that there is no spell check. I am not sure when we will be able to get it back up. We have a Christmas party over here on Thursday to also prepare for.
E-mails and comment moderation for my blog go directly to this blackberry so until we get our computers running again, this is how I will keep in touch. I can even read my favorite blogs, websites, morning and evening Spurgeon on this thing. It is more like a techy toy and I feel like a kid in a candy store. I have to admit that my favorite thing about this (birthday gift from my husband) is the fact that it allows me to communicate more with my husband. He is on call at the hospital 16 days out of this month... Along with all of our home construction, that spells "quality time, not quantity time." I can send e-mails to him in the middle of surgery to remind him that I love him, etc. For that alone it makes thumb typing worth it. Gotta go soak my thumbs now. In the meantime, press on in HIS truth and HIS love for HIS glory.

My Husband, My brother in Christ

Awww... that's so sweet! (the part about keeping in touch with hubby) Wow, he's a surgeon? Sounds exhausting. But then so is your work!

Hey girl,
Actually my husband is an anesthesiologist. A lot of people do not realize that you have to be an M.D. To be one and do a specialty residency program to be eligible to sit for the grueling written and oral exams to be board certified.
Someone from high school contacted my husband asking him what he did for a living. He told him and the guy said, "I bet that is a lot easier than being a doctor."
Things like that do not bother my husband... But it bothered me because I know how hard he works and the fact that people have no clue that their lives are more in the hands of their anesthesiologist than their surgeon... And they go to school for just about as long. He also was an ER physician which has come in handy with our own children and a few others. I'll e-mail you some of the stories.
My husband's father is a surgeon. His 2 brothers and sister are in the process of becoming physicians also. They are a very medical missions minded family. Please consider praying for them. My husband is looking to join his father this next summer in Guatemala for medical missions. He will likely bring my 2 older sons.
One of my husbands brothers will be heading to a martyr/ closed to the Gospel country with his wife also.
These are essentially working vacations in which they do surgeries that are much-needed, but too expensive, on remote mountain village peoples for sometimes up to 12 hours a day as they also share the Gospel.
Thank you for your prayers dear sister in Christ. Your words of encouragement bless me.
Sincerely,
Lisa

That is fascinating about the missions trips! And I'll be praying for all of them. I'm sure it'll be quite an experience for your sons.
And let your husband know that the anesthesiologist was my most favoritest person in the world the one time I had to be put under! Mine was a funny guy; joking the whole time... at least I think he was; I was out pretty fast! LOL
Still praying for your health. I'm sure it's nice to have a doctor in the house who's also a loving husband. :)
