The Christian's Breath... Prayer
...To live without prayer as a Christian is to live without God in this world... Keep near to the fountainhead, and with joy shall you draw out of the wells of salvation. (Isa. 12:3)
The spirit of prayer is humble...It flows from a broken and contrite heart... Every sentiment of his heart constrains him to make the affecting confession, "O my God, I am ashamed, and blush to lift up my face to you, for my iniquities are increased over my head, and my trespass is grown up into heaven." (Ezra 9:6)
The spirit of prayer is believing... we may therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb. 4:14-16)
The spirit of prayer is submissive... preferring the will of God to our own. Therefore we should approach the mercy seat with the desire that God would exercise His wisdom and grace in granting or denying our requests.
(This was inspired by the writings of Gardiner Spring in his book The Distinguishing Traits of Christian Character in the chapter called "The Spirit of Prayer")

hey, this is a little out of sorts, but I wanted to ask a favor. Will you come to my blog? I just posted something and need a few pointers? It is a very general topic? But I do admire you, and everytime I come on your blog I feel you pretty much have your stuff together, so I am asking for your input. Also anybody else who would like to see. Thanks, I am not trying to plug my blog, I am very serious. Thanks, hope to read from you soon.

thank you, but I ended up erasing the post anyway. Wasn't actually feeling right to leave it up? I think I just need to pray. Thank you anyway.
