These are very good questions. The good thing is that you could substitute just about any other pursuit in there and ask similar questions.
Many, many things exist that can distract us from our God-given responsibilities. Blogging is merely one of them. I think that if a person has a tendency to allow blogging to distract them from their responsibilities, there's a good chance that it has more to do with their character than blogging per se.

Yes, and plug in anything, as you say, with the "blogging" and we all have to admit how easy it is to allow non-priorities to distract us from our responsibilities... even with the best of intentions. Even things that are serving the church can become distractions to our responsibilities.
As far as the issue of character, who among us can cast the first stone as we proclaim Christ and yet often fail to live up to what we proclaim to believe?
But by the grace of God alone we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ... yet though there is that once and for all positional sanctification in Christ, there is still that process of sanctification that must be worked out in our daily walk... and done so with Godly fear and trembling.
Therein lies the desperate need to be held Biblically accountable in life... not just blogging. And may we not surround ourselves with people who merely tickle our ears if we truly want to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.
Thank you for your comments Kim. They are often thought provoking and much appreciated.

All great questions.
I have found that I must limit myself--both in the amount of time I spend on my own blog and that of reading others' blogs. The biggest reason is that it can be a time waster, but for myself, if I read too much in short snippets--even if it's worthy reading--I can become so full of the ideas of others that my brain goes on overload. It's a fine line for me and one that I constantly have to guard against.
I find that reading blogs is no substitute for reading books.

Thank you for posting these questions. It's important to examine our motives for doing anything and I appreciate this opportunity to apply that to blogging.
