'But God had other plans'
(Yes... this is a repost and a very important reminder)
Will you please consider my dear friend, Ramona, in your prayers. She has 11 children and will be having brain surgery on April 18th. TODAY!!!Take the time to read THIS news article about her precious family.
She and her husband participated in a post I wrote awhile back that Challies posted in his a-la-carte called Divorcing Your Adopted Child that I still get a high volume of readership on. To God be all the glory.

My Husband, My brother in Christ

Thanks for the prayers Lisa. Our oldest is also getting married on the 14th (four days before the surgery). So pray that Ramona will survive the wedding in good enough shape for the surgery.

I so long to be there with your family. Here is a somewhat paraphrased and personalized version of what Elizabeth Prentiss wrote to her dear friend that has come to mind: "I long to fly to you and [pray] with you; it seems as if I must say or do something ... But God only can help you now and how thankful I am for the throne of grace and power where I can commend you, again and again, to Him who doeth all things well. [...Dear Friend], I trust that... you have with you that Presence, before which alone [fear and unrest] flee away. God is left; Christ is left; sickness... cannot touch you here. Is that not a blissful thought? May [such things] bring us [all] nearer to Christ!

Ramona is home now. The surgery went well. However, they were only able to put one of the wires into her brain. She was leaking spinal fluid so the brain shifted in her skull which messed up the map that had created for the second wire. She will have to have another surgery next Wednesday to put in the other lead and again the next Wednesday to put in the batteries. The really good news is that they got the first lead very well placed, so much so that she stopped twitching when the tested it, which is quite unusual in these cases. It usually takes several weeks to start working.
We thank you for your prayers.
Bob, husband to Ramona
