Urgent Praise and Prayer
I asked for prayers for my friend, Ramona, HERE. Her husband wrote a comment in that post that I wanted to make sure you all read. Please continue to pray for their family. Here is the update:
Ramona is home now. The surgery went well. However, they were only able to put one of the wires into her brain. She was leaking spinal fluid so the brain shifted in her skull which messed up the map that had created for the second wire. She will have to have another surgery next Wednesday to put in the other lead and again the next Wednesday to put in the batteries. The really good news is that they got the first lead very well placed, so much so that she stopped twitching when the tested it, which is quite unusual in these cases. It usually takes several weeks to start working. We thank you for your prayers.

My dad had this same surgery for his Parkinson's disease back in 1999--getting the "right" spot as Bob described it IS in fact a huge deal! Praise the Lord for His grace and mercy in this detail!!

Dearest Lisa,
Thank you so much for your prayers and the prayers of the saints who read this blog. God has heard them and answered them, indeed! I am home and doing well although, I have to admit, not looking real forward to the next surgery. The first one involved quite a bit of pain and I am struggling with how to approach the second surgery in that regard.
As I was in the OR and surrounded by neurosurgeons, I wanted to tell them that there were people all over the world praying for them, but I didn't get the chance. Maybe I will get a second chance!
I did very much enjoy sharing our family story with two nurses in the ICU, plus I got to tell many folks the story behind the mohawk that the kids gave me. That was a lot of fun.
Thanks again, Lisa and friends. I really appreciate all of your prayers.
Ramona
PS/Lisa - could you email me when you get a minute regarding some questions for your hubby?

Just wondering if there are photos of you with the mohawk??? Perhaps something to add to your blog with some catchy caption--let the kids work on that, okay? Love ya Ramona!

I know that Ramona covets all of your prayers. Thank you. I am blessed as well. Not only by Ramona and her testimony, but in knowing that you are praying for this very special lady.
