Building a Heritage
This week my husband and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage. The first 6 years was really rough... followed by an 18 month separation that almost ended in divorce twice. Then came a reconciliation that, in my mind, was for the kids... with no hope of any change in our marriage. Three months after the reconciliation, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; a few months after that, I fell on my face while cleaning my garage realizing what a filthy, rotten, unsaved sinner I was... crying out to my holy God to forgive me. A couple of months later my husband and pastor baptized me; then I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child. (full story HERE)
fast forward
Now we have 6 children, we are praying about adopting 2 more... and I am married to my best friend. Not only do we keep growing in our love for each other, but we continue to grow in our love for our Saviour and Lord.
I love you Jon!!! And I thank God for your steadfast love for our heavenly Father. I often think about that prayer I read in your journal when we were separated. You wrote that prayer when there seemed to be no hope for our marriage.
"Father, save our marriage. I want Christ to be the foundation of our marriage.I would have NEVER pictured us where we are today. What a faithful God we serve.
Holy Spirit, work in our hearts so that we will always act in love toward one another.
Father, build a heritage for Yourself from this home so that generations to come from Lisa and I will glorify you."

Thanks for letting others see the depths that God brought you out of, Lisa.
Are there two kids in particular that you are praying about? Can I help pray?
Blessings

Lisa,
My dear friend, Happy Anniversary to you & Jon.
Jim & I also had some serious trials in our marriage. We been together over 9 years now. I came to realize that it was God alone that brought us together. He always knows whats best for us.
