I Once Was Blind...
But now I see. But then even now, though I may see, I see through a glass dimly.
I did not mention when I allowed you an MRI glimpse into my brain that apparently I have lesions on my occipital lobe. Am I looking at going blind?
Though I woke up this morning with blind spots that won't go away and cannot fathom not being able to see at all... will I get to see the faces of my children as they grow, the sunrise or set with my husband? ...
"Hold Thou my Hand." says Fanny Crosby, "Hubert P. Main wrote the music for this hymn. For days before I wrote it, all had seemed dark to me. This was an unusual experience, for I have always been most cheerful; and so, in my human weakness, I cried in prayer. 'Dear Lord, hold Thou my hand!' Almost at once sweet peace returned to my heart, and my gratitude for answered prayer sang itself in the lines of my hymn":
"Hold Thou my hand,
so weak I am and helpless
I dare not take one step without Thy aid;
Hold Thou my hand, for then,
O loving Saviour,
No dread of ill shall make my soul afraid."
"...for we walk by faith, not by sight."

"...we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen;
for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
