The Power of Waiting... Dots and Lines
Okay... so Chapter 8 of John Ensor's Doing Things Right in the Matters of the Heart discusses sexual intimacy.
It is approached in such a way that it remains appropriate, but then be careful to read this chapter before handing this book over to your son or daughter. This is definitely a chapter that will require discernment from the parent as to whether or not you are ready to talk about such things. Though I do believe this is a great book for married, single... male or female. Is this chapter for your teen and at what age???? That is prayerfully up to you dad and mom.
So what do I mean by "dots and lines?"
I will just say that men are the dots and women are the lines and you will have to get the book.
What is "the power of waiting?"
Think in terms of modesty and chastity.
Ensor encourages, within the power of purity, to NOT be "like the Gentiles who do not know God"... to NOT go with the flow (according to the low standards of the world)... but to be a nonconformist... to swim upstream and live according to God's standards.
This is key: In this chapter, Ensor succinctly reveals the litmus test for being able to differentiate between the seemingly predatory male from the immature provider-protector type of man who is ready to grow up?
Think about this. You MUST know what the litmus test is... You MUST pass this on to especially your daughters.
This litmus test put into action will keep them from the world of vacuumed wombs, silent nurseries... ringless fingers, and deep-seated rebellion against God's good and pleasing will.
What is it that proclaims a woman's inner strength, dignity, and worth with unmistakable force and clarity? Remember this well and teach it to your daughters... the loudest roar a woman can make... is a quiet confident restraint of choosing to be chaste till marriage.

Amen! I wish the Church of today would be more bold when it comes to teaching purity. So many Christian teens try to get away with as much 'physical acitvity' as possible and think that they are pure because they have abstained from a certain thing. (I'm tryint to be a little vague here because I am not sure of the age of your readership). I pray that the youth in our church today see what true purity of the heart really is!
