FINALLY!!! Some of our remodel pics!!!
If you walk into our girl's bathroom you see this. This wall use to be a pocket door leading to a Jack-and-Jill bedroom that we turned into a laundry room. I tiled it to match the existing tile. Then I took the wallpaper off and painted it with the girls. (see bottom for pics of laundry room)
If you go in to the bathroom and turn around, you will see what is below. My girls love to sing... especially in the bathroom. One is almost 5 and the other just turned 7. Their room will be painted with the rest of the lines to this song throughout the room above each door jam. Not done yet.
Here is my laundry room. I did just fine before I had 2 washers and dryers and a tiny laundry room, but it is certainly more time efficient to have my own... laundromat. This laundry room leads up to our bonus room above the garage.
I will post pics later of the bonus room, master bedroom, mother-in-law suite, buffet room and outdoor room later. My kids are home and I prefer to hang out with them. :-)

Whoa girlfriend!! How did you swing that laundromat?!! Are those two sets or four washers?! I will not be jealous, I will not, I will not... We do manage with one washer and dryer still, even with the ten kids at home. Ha - it helps to have boys who wear the same clothes over and over and over again! ;-) A habit they picked up in Russia. Wait a minute, our bio sons do that, too... Oh well.
This looks great and I am SO impressed that you did the work yourself! No wonder you have been busy!
I love purple, but have been telling our girls it would not be good for a bathroom. Maybe now I will need to rethink that. Does this bathroom have a window? I thought that a lighter color for a bathroom without a window would be best, but this does look great!

If you get the right purple (the color of it is more like the second pic) and have enough lighting, it is actually a breath-taking color with no windows necessary. My girls love it. It is very cheery.
The laundry room use to be a bedroom. My husband easily converted it because the wall that the 2 washers and 2 dryers are on back up to the garage. The laundry sink use to be a closet. It was Jon's idea to do this and I have really loved it. I had no clue what I was missing though because it seemed that what I had was sufficient.
We did have alot of built-ins put in throughout the house at a very inexpensive rate. It is actually much more space-efficient and cheaper than buying furniture... but UGH!!! on the painting and staining of all of it.
One thing I noticed through the decorating process is that I do not like white walls and my color choices are brighter and darker than I thought I would feel comfortable with. In the buffet room I painted the walls dark "Chocolate Souffle" with a blue trey ceiling, but there are tons of windows and lights in there.
It is all coming along at a slower rate than we thought. We have had to deal with so many unexpected glitches. Like the flood from a hard rain that permeated into one of our bedrooms right after the framer had to take out a section of our roof to prepare for roofing over our new deck... and the seemingly endless nightmare of trying to level a horridly unlevel concrete floor to prepare for 3/4" bamboo flooring. BUT it is progressing, at a snails rate, but progressing. We do have a ways to go... we were "Supposed" to be done in July on the whole project but it looks more like Christmas for the inside and Spring 2008 for the outside.

Hey, I've been wanting/planning to do some "writing" on the walls of our girls' bathroom--which also happens to serve as the guest bathroom. How'd you do that? Oh wait, you're "artistic" by nature, never mind!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I still might try my hand at it--I want to use Proverbs 31:30 cause it is one of the first verses I taught our girls.
Your projects look wonderful and very useful!!

I bought an alphabet cursive stencil set at Lowe's, painted each letter, and then added a shadow to each letter using a t-shirt painting marker. It was a bit tedious, but worth it in the end.
I think you should go for it!!!

I'd been hoping that you'd post some pics of your renovations.
The girls' bathroom looks fab! And I so love that laundry - I would love to have a separate laundry. Ours if just in our garage....mind you with only 4 of us in this house, I know I don't have the laundry workload that you do. In any case, it looks wonderful and very workable!
What a wonderful husband to suggest the extra washing machine and dryer! Wahoo!
Cheers, Wilm
PS Hope you have more pics coming!

Wow! I love what you've done. When we lived in the States, I surprised myself by choosing a dark forest green for the living room (one wall was basically windows) and the girls chose a deep brick red for their bedroom. Navy and taupe for the son's room. Made everything very warm... Can't wait to see what else you've done.
Oh, and I LOVE the lost socks hanging on the wall!! Great idea!!
