"I Fundamentally Disagree"
... and even more so, my heart aches over why Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson, a distinguished New Testament scholar, justifies same-sex marriage. He writes:
I think it is important to state clearly that we do, in fact, reject the straightforward commands of Scripture, and appeal instead to another authority when we declare that same-sex unions can be holy and good. And what exactly is that authority? We appeal explicitly to the weight of our own experience and the experience thousands of others have witnessed to, which tells us that to claim our own sexual orientation is in fact to accept the way in which God has created us.No. God did not create them that way. No. God would never go against Himself, nor would He go against His Word of Truth... lest He be an unfaithful liar. Of which He is not.
But then, THIS ARTICLE needs to be kept in mind.
What about THIS EXCELLENT ARTICLE that Biblically addresses this issue: Homeless men can now choose their residence based on whether they feel like a man or woman.
One of the main points of the article: It is a reminder to me that if I want to see the effects of sin reversed in my community, I must be a part of my community.
On an encouraging note, read THIS ARTICLE about an American Idol auditioner that was rejected, not because of his lack of talent, but because he stood for purity:
Obviously this young man "...knows that God did not make women for the distinct purpose of satisfying his carnal urges, but realizes that God created them in His own image, full of dignity, worthy of respect and honor. The real man does not see a woman as an object to be used, but as a gift to be cherished as a perfectly suitable helpmate."
