Have you ever realized...
... that when a baby smiles at you it is a blessing? a gift from God? That is how I see it and what a special blessing it is.
...that when your child looks up into the evening sky with you and says, "Mommy, God made all those stars!" ... that is a blessing? a gift from God?
... that in the business of the day, God provides a time of peaceful rest, a time to be still, to praise Him for all His marvelous wonders... that is a blessing from God? a sweet gift?
... that we too often fail to recognize the abundant blessings from God surrounding us because we are too busy?
Lord, help me to keep my eyes and heart open to these precious gifts... these countless opportunities to praise Your Holy Name...

Thanks for this sweet reminder. I have been so busy lately that I feel like I'm overlooking these simple blessings.

I often write such things because the Lord has convicted my heart for overlooking such blessings. They are simple, but OH SO SWEET... SO beautiful... so countless.
We serve a God that is faithful, longsuffering, patient, just, holy... my words seem so inadequate to describe the God that sent His Son to die for wretched sinners such as myself...
It makes me think of that beautiful hymn by Isaac Watts:
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
