If He Had to Do it All Over Again...
My family’s all grown and the kids are all gone. But if I had to do it all over again, this is what I would do. I would love my wife more in front of my children. I would laugh with my children more—at our mistakes and our joys. I would listen more, even to the littlest child. I would be more honest about my own weaknesses, never pretending perfection. I would pray differently for my family; instead of focusing on them, I’d focus on me. I would do more things together with my children. I would encourage them more and bestow more praise. I would pay more attention to little things, like deeds and words of thoughtfulness. And then, finally, if I had to do it all over again, I would share God more intimately with my family; every ordinary thing that happened in every ordinary day I would use to direct them to God.The above is a quote from THIS SITE. Excellent read that I found on Challies a-la-carte this morning.
I also really enjoyed THIS POST from Doulogos. This guy studies Greek and Latin, which to me is an incredible way to deepen ones understanding of Scripture. I enjoy studying words and their roots not only because of that reason, but because it is just plain interesting. Especially since my children take Latin... and they know a whole lot more than I do. They are working on a video production right now in which they had to tweak a script and create a play based on the epic tale of Phaethon. They have to speak the entire script in (NOT ecclesiastical) Latin. They constantly correct my pronunciation and find great humor in my attempts. It really is quite hilarious!!! We have had many gut-wrenching fits of laughter... where the tears stream down and you can't breathe. Yes... learning Latin can be fun. It is all a matter of perspective.

Good words.
And I love the laughter -- is there anything any better?! Laughing 'til it hurts...with your children!

What a precious gift from God laughter is... especially with our children.
