Indelible Imprint of Christ in Music
For over a year my teen boys have been instructed by David Attebery on acoustic, electric and bass guitars. It has been an honor to have him come to our home and teach our boys. Two months ago he took on teaching their band, VIVIT (Latin for "He Lives"). Mr. Atterbery recently pursued his passion to be a worship leader about 4 hours from here and will be moving at the end of the month. WE WILL MISS HIM!!! He has been an inspiration for the glory of God to my boys and to the band. Today was his last day with them. However, next week he will be at the concert that they are having for their school. They sounded INCREDIBLE today. Even Mr. Attebery got goose bumps as they were worshiping. What a joy to witness this next generation of worship leaders perform music that bring honor to the Lord. This is a 4 piece band with vocals, drums, bass and electric guitar and they range in age from 12 to 14 years old.
Mr. Attebery has left an indelible imprint of Christ on these kids. I have no doubt he will come back periodically to check on them. He has set it up that Neil Greenhaw will take his place. So, once a week beginning after the concert, Neil will come over and help them out. Neil graduated from the same university that my husband and I did with a degree in Music; John Brown University. He was the guitarist for The Katina's and is now the worship leader for Fellowship Bible Church in NW Arkansas. He can play just about every instrument and will not only teach them how to play, but will also, because of his experience of going on tour with the Katina's and living in Nashville, teach them stage presence and continue to teach them what it means to play for the glory of God... just like Mr. Attebery did.
"It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High..."--Ps 92:1
