How to recognize bad reasoning UPDATE FROM MY HUSBAND
The following is an example of a Logical Fallacy: (Which fallacy or fallacies does this bad reasoning fall under?)
Even though "The distinctive points of the Doctrines of Grace are "taught by Jesus and confirmed for us in Scripture by the apostle Paul" and then systemized by Calvin, when a person believes that the 5 points of Calvinism is Biblical Theology, they are murderers because Calvin was a murderer.
The above "argument" about believing that Calvinism is Biblical theology makes one a murderer because Calvin was a murderer is an actual argument from a real false-prophet. I imagine you can all guess who. Interestingly, when a false-prophet tries to prove himself, his arguments are saturated in logical fallacies: red herrings, ad hominems, genetic fallacies, tu quoque, faulty appeal to authority, circular reasonings, equivocations, loaded questions, hasty generalizations, proof-by-lack-of-evidence, appeal to fear, appeal to pity, etc. Go to THIS link to see a short list and some examples of each.
The next time you are faced with a false-prophet, it will be interesting to consider which of the fallacies they turn to to justify themselves before men. I recommend that you buy THIS book to help your children learn to recognize bad reasoning.
UPDATE: My husband has left a comment providing a link on the issue of Calvin and the Servetus issue. I recommend you read it.

Calvin was a murderer?
I assume this is refering to "The Servetus Problem". Go to THIS LINK for a really good explanation of this issue.

Thanks for that link! I'm planning on reading that post later when I have a little more time. I've been wanting to find out the truth of that matter, since the fruitcakes made such a big deal of it.

Another one of their big rantings was why my husband had not chimed in earlier. He is a man who weighs his every word. As a matter of fact, in our neighborhood Bible study, it has been said by several people in the group that he does not speak unless he really has something to say, so when he speaks there is pin-drop silence to hear him and it is always something that makes them think deeply. He has not been silent in this whole ordeal. He just doesn't have lettuce on his teeth like Cohen and Hafichuk. Remember one of Hafichuk's "proverbs" that says: "Words spoken hastily is like lettuce on the teeth of one smiling." So many of their own words have come back to bite them.
I honestly long for that not to be the case. It does not make me happy to observe these people as so blinded. It breaks my heart.

Denny's pretty thoughtful before he speaks too. But right now he's just way too busy to bother with people who are clearly not going to listen to reason anyway.
I do pray that somehow God will break through their stony hearts.
