Multiple Sclerosis... I could use your prayers
I am reluctant to share with you all on the world-wide web that I am struggling physically with the MS right now for a few reasons. The main reason is because of what I went through with the venomous accusations from Victor Hafichuk and his clan claiming the following words:
The Lord promises that no good thing would He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Obviously with MS we can hardly say you walk uprightly.
Their harshness and false accusations hurt more than I realized. Working through that, I have prayerfully realized that I need to get past it and ask for your prayers.
I sincerely thank you.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Lisa
Oh yes, and please pray backwards.

Lisa,
That accusation from Hafichuk is so absurd, words fail me. That is simple foolishness. Does that mean anyone with any back or leg injury gets nothing good from God? How stupid can they be?
That said, I'll remember you in my prayers today. If laughter is good medicine, visit our blog for a dose: http://dinghome.net/2008/07/13/homemade-do-not-disturb-sign/

Kind of pathetic they 'made' us feel that way, eh? I've had sort of the same thing lately (trouble with my Crohn's including a short hospitalization) but was too weak to ask for prayer. I'm glad you were stronger.
You know you have my prayers every day, my friend and sister, and even more so now.
(((hug)))

Lisa,
I am sad to hear that you are have hit a rough patch with the MS. Those words which were spewed at you are mean and spiteful, and in no way reflect the relationship you have with God.
For those who develop MS, it is not due to a character flaw or an unhealthy lifestyle, nor due to a lack of faith or an unloving god, nor due to a need for spiritual lessons. It does not discriminate based on beliefs and it can't be wished away. MS can attack without notice as well as retreat without reason. But often it is a constant companion which is sometimes quiet and whispered.
That's what I will pray for you. May your MS retreat into quiet repose and become merely a whisper.

Hi Lisa, I just saw your comment. I'll pray for you too! Hang in there, dear sister! And thank you for being such a godly example thru it all!

Please ignore them, and please keep posting on your MS. Since March my doctors have been evaluating me for the possibility of MS, and I find your blog very encouraging.

Words fail me right now. I just sincerely thank you for your kindness and prayers.
Romans 8:28-30--
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according go his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to become conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren; and whom he predestined, these he also called; and whom he called, these he also justified; and whom he justified, these he also glorified.

I'm so sorry to hear about this and how it is weighing so heavily on you--physically and spiritually.
Still, God can and will use this to remind you of HIS truth (Phil 4:8), and HIS providence in your life.
I've had many opportunities to grapple with the words of others in the context of infertility/barreness--God's curse(s) due to my sin, or a trial from His hand by His good pleasure for His glory and my good? It's not an easy path, but it is the path He has chosen for us and we will continue to look to him and strive to walk in His ways, not those of man!
Keep pressing on sister, I'm praying for you!!!

Lisa,
I got to you through TeamPyro following a link from a link and I saw your comments on one of the posts where you outlined some of the things that had been thrown at you.
May I please share something with you if you haven't seen it already? Justin Peters is a pastor with Cerebral Palsy who did his Master's Thesis on the Word of Faith clan (which the words of those attacking you indicates that they do espouse). His site is at justinpeters (dot) org and if you'll search YouTube there's a four-part portion of the seminar he goes around the country presenting on this matter, entitled "A Call for Discernment". It's excellent. I sent it to the parent of a child with CP and he returned with a heartfelt thank you, said it was a much needed tonic. I believe the same applies with MS or any other thorn that we have to carry in our sides.
To quote him from clip four as he talks about his own disability:
"I have been told twice in my life that the reason I have Cerebral Palsy is that I'm not saved....Next to my salvation, my Cerebral Palsy is one of the greatest gifts that God has ever allowed me to have. I have come to know the Lord in ways through my Cerebral Palsy otherwise I may never have known Him. I have experienced Him in ways otherwise I may never have experienced Him. I know just a little bit of what the Apostle Paul spoke of in 2 Corinthians 12: My grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in your weakness. Praise be His name."
God bless you.
