VIVIT video clips
Below is a video of VIVIT performing at the mayoral candidate picnic in June, 2008. It was VIVIT's first live performance with their new vocalist, Lauren. She joined the band 2 weeks before this performance and fits right in. There were a few sound system glitches that they had to work through, but they persevered. Unfortunately, as you will witness on the video, we also had some camera challenges as well. My favorite song on this video is "Long Live the King". My favorite song that they performed was "Slow Fade", which was the actual last song that they performed. They did a fantastic job, but we had some mic and feedback challenges... plus we did not get a good video of it. Perhaps we can tape it at one of their practices. We are looking to get Josh a new electric guitar. One of his siblings broke the neck on the one in the video just a few weeks before VIVIT was supposed to perform. We did our best to get it fixed, but there are some definite sound challenges with it, plus it has a hard time staying in tune as he plays. Not his fault, but he certainly perseveres through it.
We also wanted to share one of their practice sessions. This is a song, "Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot, that their instructor taught them 4 days earlier. We will tape more of their practice sessions in the future for a couple of reasons: It allows them to hear themselves and give constructive feedback or suggestions on how to tweak the song. It also allows them to see if they are ready to perform that song. They had not yet practiced "Dare You to Move" that day, so this is the first run-through of several, but I thought they sounded excellent. They made a few changes after viewing the video and performed it the next day at a 4th of July celebration on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. And Yes, that is Josh hiding behind his music stand. He was actually sick that day and through the performance the next day, but he persevered.

I thought they did a great job!!! As for the man taking the video, he could use a little practice ;) Lauren is glad that they have changed Dare You to Move to fit her voice range better.
