"Lisa at Deo Volente is another blogger that I'd love to meet with and share some coffee. She's been through some rough circumstances in her life, and she's come through them clearly showing the grace of God, and honouring Him through those circumstances. Her various posts are sometimes funny, often really make you think, and always theologically sound."-Jen at JoythruChrist
Lisa is passionate about her reformed faith and her posts reflect how her faith is practically applied to situations in her life. Very difficult ones, from time to time...Ukrainiac
"Lisa's site has become one of my new favorites to read and to participate. I think she brings a nice touch to the application of theology to everday life as a woman and as a mother. It's sort of like Secret— strong enough for a man, but made for a woman." -Young Wilderness Voice
"Praise the Lord! I have finally found the sold-out, brainy Christian women bloggers, and from what I can tell so far, most of them are Reformed to boot! I knew they had to be out there somewhere. It was just a matter of time. I was directed to Lisa’s blog this morning ...which led to Carla’s blog ... and these are leading me to many others." -Katy at Logoscentric

Challies has linked to an article that really blew my mind. I personally know of the lasting pain that abortion can bring; I have spoken with, prayed with, tried to encourage, and counseled women that have experienced the devastating pain of abortion... but I have honestly never come across an article about a man's devastation of having brought a young lady to an abortion clinic. I encourage you to read it HERE.

The MSNBC article linked below starts out by revealing a story of a young woman who was raped. After examination, she requested the morning-after pill. The doctor said he could not do that because it was against his religion. My husband is a physician working at a Catholic hospital so this article struck home. Especially the list of states in which such an action by a physician to deny treatment due to moral or religious beliefs is considered legal. Our state is listed. The article likened this to "moral condemnation" in which one lawyer even claimed it to be "obscene." I beg to differ... even in the case of rape. Those physicians are thinking about not only the life in the womb of the mother, they are thinking of the well being of the mother. How can I say this? Because I know what a horrid experience it is to have an abortion...
Ronald Reagan published a booklet during an election year called "Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation."
This was considered political suicide... and yet, he was re-elected.
In this book, Reagan wrote, "We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life --the unborn-- without diminishing the value of all human life." Reagan also stated that abortion is the "greatest moral crisis facing our country today... it is not for us to decide who is worthy to live and who is not."
Catholic and conservative Christian health care providers are denying women a range of standard, legal medical care. Planned Parenthood M.D.s report patients coming to them because other gynecologists would not dole out birth control prescriptions or abortion referrals. Infertility clinics have turned away lesbians and unmarried women; anesthesiologists and obstetricians are refusing to do sterilizations; Catholic hospitals have delayed ending doomed pregnancies because abortions are only allowed to save the life of the mother. In a survey published this year in The New England Journal of Medicine, 63 percent of doctors said it is acceptable to tell patients they have moral objections to treatments, and 18 percent felt no obligation to refer patients elsewhere. And in a recent SELF.com poll, nearly 1 in 20 respondents said their doctors had refused to treat them for moral, ethical or religious reasons. "It's obscene," says Jamie D. Brooks, a former staff attorney for the National Health Law Program who continues to work on projects with the Los Angeles advocacy group. "Doctors swear an oath to serve their patients. But instead, they are allowing their religious beliefs to compromise patient care. And too often, the victims of this practice are women."
The state of doctor refusalsPhysicians anywhere can deny you care. But some states back up M.D.s with specific laws allowing them to do so, says Elizabeth Nash, public policy associate at the Guttmacher Institute research group. Whose side is your state on?
States that allow doctors to refuse careContraception AR, CO, FL, IL, ME, MS, TN, WA
Abortion Every state has a law except AL, NH, VT, WV.
Sterilization AR, GA, ID, IL, KS, KY, MD, MA, MS, MT, NJ, PA, RI, WA, WV, WI...

"...The Saviour is, by His Spirit, still on earth; let this truth encourage us. He is always in the midst of the fight... and as the conflict rages, what a sweet satisfaction it is to know that the Lord Jesus, in His office as our GREAT INTERCESSOR, is powerfully interceding for His people! O anxious gazer, do not look so much at the battle below, for there you will be enshrouded with smoke and amazed with garments rolled in blood. Instead, lift your eyes yonder where the Saviour lives and pleads, for while He intercedes, the cause of God is safe. LET US FIGHT AS THOUGH IT ALL DEPENDED ON US, BUT LET US LOOK UP AND KNOW THAT IT ALL DEPENDS ON HIM..."
--C. H. Spurgeon
There are people out there doing this now... They have rolled up their sleeves to fight, though enshrouded by smoke and garments covered in blood spilled by the innocent life of the unborn. They fight as though it really does all depend on them, yet they know they must look up to the One whom the innocent take refuge. I DO NOT CONDONE violent action against abortion clinics and doctors that perform abortions. What I do condone is GODLY ACTIVISTS. WE MUST reflect the COMPASSION of CHRIST on this issue when we fight for those babies' lives.

On Testimony Tuesday at Challies, he provided a link to my abortion testimony. A young lady named Kathleen left the following comment:
I think it's interesting that the only women who claim "I didn't know what I was doing" about their abortion are women who seek to deny other women the very choice they themselves exercised. I've never heard a pro-choice woman claim such ignorance or denial about their abortion. It's always the anti-choicers who -- after freely and voluntarily getting the abortion they needed -- suddenly turn around and start concocting all sorts of denials: "I didn't know what I was doing", "It wasn't my choice", "I was forced", "Nobody told me.", etc.You didn't know that abortion removes an unwanted pregnancy? What did you think you were making an appointment for, a tooth cleaning?
Either anti-choice women tend to be remarkably ignorant and passive as a whole -- or they adopt this cloak of ignorance and irresponsibility after becoming "prolife". Which is it?
My response:
Dear Kathleen,
It was both ignorance and irresponsibility. I was young and very self focused looking for an excuse, like the baby being called "mass of tissue" but truly not having any idea what I was getting into when my mother dropped me off to get the abortion. Actually Kathleen, I really was pro-choice until I had an abortion... and this happens to many women, including older ones that have fought for the right to kill their unborn child... until they have done it themselves.Sincerely,
Lisa

"Because trial and persecution test men's professions, they are used as the winnowing fan in the Lord's hand, as it is written, "He will thoroughly purge his floor." In persecution, the mere professors, the camp-followers and hangers-on, soon flee away, for they have no heart to true religion when the profession of it involves the cross. They could walk with Jesus in silver slippers, but they cannot travel with him when his bleeding feet go barefoot over the world's rough ways..."-Spurgeon

I started this website blog on March 11, 2006. According to my entries log for this website, this is my 100th post. I started blogging on blogspot on January 15th, 2006...
(methinks I am long-winded)
On the left sidebar you will find more audio buttons. There are a few things I am leaving out that I do not feel are necessary. They are each about 2 minutes long...
I am having technical problems. (Most likely due to the fact that I am techno-challenged ... right, Mr. Challies?) The recorder only allows me to do 2 minute segments.

On the left sidebar you will notice an audio button (that you have to click twice). I will post this radio testimony in 5 segments. This one is the first and it is only a couple of minutes long... The entire testimony is 35 minutes. Now I am going to make excuses and apologies for my southern twang, stutters, and getting ahead of myself as I give the hardest testimony I have ever given.

Please read what is on this link. It is so well written. It surpasses by far anything I have ever written or spoken on abortion:
Being Pro-Christ

This is an excerpt of the radio testimony I spoke:
I came from the generation in which the school systems were just beginning to pass out condoms like candy to promote "safe sex" because they figured we were all going to have sex anyway. Well, the evidence is clear that the safe sex approach---built upon a reliance on condoms and dependance that children will have sex anyway---is a failure.
Decisions our children make now can affect their health and character for the rest of their lives.
You would be saddened to know how many churches promote pro-choice and how many "Evangelical Christians" and "Catholics" get abortions.
What is the cause of choice?
I Timothy 6:9-10 says, "People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction."Abortion clinics make BILLIONS of dollars killing babies and selling their dead bodies. One companies pricelist from a reliable source ( Baby Parts ) reads like a cannibal's wishlist:
Skin $100
Limbs (at least 2) $150
Spinal Cord $325
Brain $999 (30% discount if significantly fragmented)
Most researchers want "parts harvested" from fetuses 18 to 24 weeks in Utero, which means these babies lying in a lab pan awaiting a blade will be 10 to 12 inches long... from your wrist to your elbow.
